Podmores supply equipment to Potters Herbal, the UK’s leading herbal medicines manufacturer, whose market is expanding. To meet such a demand and support the company’s strategy Podmores created a cost effective, bespoke bottle in-feed elevator, bottle un-scrambler to prepare bottles for filling and an elevator to load the filling head from the operator side of the production line. The new equipment will save money for the company and improve production line efficiency, increasing capacity for two main lines of products, one of them for the product Eye Q, currently exported to European Countries such as Sweden, Poland, Denmark, among others.
Podmores have secured an order of 24 vibratory bowl feeders from a leading packaging systems company based in the Netherlands. The 24 low-frequency vibratory bowl feeders will be integrated into a high-speed crisp packet counting and packaging line, that is capable of processing an amazing 750 million bags of crisps per year. Each bowl feeder will receive a bulk supply of product from a storage conveyor and will sort over 120 bags per minute, providing a steady and controlled out-feed of individual bags to a conveyor system that incorporates counting devices that allow specific batches of bags to be counted into boxes or containers below.
Podmores has been supplying equipment to Cannon Plastics, a company established in 1973 and a specialist in screen printing plastic bottles, aerosol caps, metal anodised cosmetic components and injection moulded closures, for over 20 years. The first item installed was a bowl feeder that is still in daily use some 19 years later and the latest addition to their production line is a Podmores bottle un-scrambler that feeds bottles to their main four color printer. The new Podmores equipment added to their production line was strategically bought to enable Cannon to fulfill long term contracts that the company has recently acquired with large blue chip companies.
Podmores aim to strengthen their relationship with their customers providing not only quality products but quality information. To achieve that in September 2008 a new website, which has been re-designed with support and feedback from both staff and customers, was launched. The new website has a modern new look, new content, significant technical information and a user-friendly layout.
“We are delighted to have a new website. We believe it shows our clients and prospective customers how Podmores has changed and developed over the years. We wanted to improve accessibility for our customers and ensure they find the information they need. By doing that we will be able to communicate better with our highly valued customers”, said Andrew Gough, Managing Director.
“Podmores has a strong reputation for product quality and good relationships with their customers. Now we aim to increase our brand awareness and improve the services we provide to our customers, taking the company to next level”, Michelle Gomes, Marketing Manager commented.
