Podmores crisp de-oiler and flavour coating systemPodmores have constructed a system perfectly suited to flavouring snack food products, especially preparing potato chips for rotary flavour coating. The de-oiling and flavour feed vibratory feeder based system remains an increasingly popular method of preparing products by first shaking them over an angled vibratory feeder fitted with screens to remove excess oils from the cooking process with flavours being added by the separate feeder situated above.

The feeders load the de-oiled product and flavours into a rotary mixer and has been commissioned for a 100kg throughput per hour which easily meets the customer’s criteria – substantially higher rates were achieved in testing.

The entire unit was constructed out of 304 stainless steel because of the food hygiene requirements of this job and was made to measure to fit around the customers’ existing machinery.

Andrew Gough, Managing Director at Podmores, said: ‘Podmores have been a dominant force in the food and drink machinery market and this is a perfect example of an international customer recognising that we have the ability to meet the exact requirements they needed. This tried and tested automated system enables the customer to easily manage their flavouring process and requires minimal human attention throughout’.

This bespoke system was specially designed for this application but similar systems can also be developed to handle products for the following industries: aerospace, automotive, chemicals, cosmetics, electronics, food & beverage, medical & biotech, military, mining, packaging, pharmaceutical, plastics & recycling.
