Podmores develops a specially built Bowl Feeder to handle wooden blocks to a family business established in 1948 in the Timber industry that recycles timber and sell woodchips for gardens and animal bedding, and other recycled material. The bespoke Bowl Feeder system developed by Podmores includes a vibratory bowl feeder capable of feeding wooden blocks to a woodworking machine used to manufacture curtain rings.
The bowl feeder is a mild steel fabricated unit to orientate the square wooden blocks from the discharge chute on the narrow ⅞” edge. The short mild steel discharge chute was fitted with an adjustable rail to allow various block sizes all ⅞” thick to be handled. The relatively large components of up to 3½” x 3½” square use a 950mm diameter bowl feeder to allow some storage capacity and automatically feed the components in a clockwise direction to the adjacent CNC profiling machine.
Mike Sherwin, Sales Manager for Podmores said: We have worked with the timber industry and this customer for more than 20 years. This bowl feeder compliments other bowl feeders Podmores have supplied to this customer, the high levels of performance achieved from our previously supplied equipment, gave the customer utmost confidence in ordering further equipment from Podmores.
This bespoke system was specially designed for this application but similar systems can also be developed to handle products for the following industries: aerospace, automotive, chemicals, cosmetics, electronics, food & beverage, medical & biotech, military, mining, packaging, pharmaceutical, plastics & recycling.
