On Friday 21st March 2009 Podmores hosted an event to raise money for Donna Louise Children’s Hospice. Donna Louise Children’s Hospice is a local charity that rely solely on the generosity and goodwill of the general public for funding to provide the much-needed support for children and their families. They need to raise £2million every year to continue their vital work and they count on entities like Circus Starr and people like us at Podmores to continue to bring joy to the lives of life-threatened children.
To help The Donna Louise Trust’s beautiful project Podmores have bought a Sponsorship package that includes two free tickets to attent a Circus Starr presentation. To raise money for the charity, Podmores raffled the 2 free tickets amongst members of staff. As well as paying for the Sponsorship package, all the money raised by the staff was matched by the company. The fundraising raffle was held at Podmores during a fun coffee break offered to all members of staff. The winner, Brian Clowes, our design manager; received the 2 tickets for the 19:00 show to be held on the 7th April 2009 in Hanley.
Amelia Gough, Finance Director said: “We are delighted with not only the teams participation, but their generosity. Podmores and members of staff have raised a total of £220 and further to that the company have contributed with the Sponsorship package of £58.58, of which 50% goes to the Donna Louise Trust. We are happy to help those who are in need and we intend to host other events in the future to help other charities and people in need”.
